That should be poignant in Carter’s case and revealing in Kennedy’s.

His supporters were dreadful to Hillary at that convention. I know it’s a different situation and world but the undercurrent is there.

i don't see why you are dredging up Bernie vs Hillary strife. Does that help? What undercurrent?
Come on, be nice to Bernie supporters who don't deserve to be treated like potential troubemakers when theres no friction of any kind on the horizon. We need them and they're on board 100%.

Unity, right?

18. He's been very vocal in his support for Kamala

and Walz. And its just logical: Kamala is the most Progressive candidate we've had in decades and she had the courage to pick another Progressive rather than trying to "balance" the ticket with a middle right Democrat.

7. I'm looking forward to hearing both of them. But please, I hope there's no "we go high" moment.

Being unnecessarily kind and "taking the high road" is seen as a sign of weakness by our GOP adversaries as well as voters.

Nothing wrong with that. We had quite a few folks getting down in the mud and wrestling them night one. Gotta cast a wide net.

6. I despise hearing grown adults recite the pledge of allegiance with the same sing-song rhythm as children.
Tue Aug 20, 2024, 05:30 PM

Adults should recite it as a complete sentence: "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation (under God,) indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Only children should recite it as:

I pledge allegiance...
to the Flag...
of the United States of America.
and to the Republic...
for which it stands...
one Nation...
(under God,)...
indivisible...
with liberty...
and justice for all.
