It sounds like an outsider revolt. What a miraculous thing to behold. We have pulled the rug right out from under the GOP.

(25,120 posts)Trump and friends spent so much time, money, and energy (OK, hate) vilifying and demonizing Joe Biden that in a crazy way, Kamala Harris is "none of the above".
Everyone who bashed Joe Biden failed to propose an alternative (as if he were as intransigent as themselves or that orange narcissist).
They forgot one thing.
Joe's the smartest person in any room
I am sure he decided that while he could win, as many of us thought, a younger ticket has better chances.
By doing what he did, he completely bamboozled the opposition, which spent all its energy bashing him.
Joe outsmarted and outplayed everyone, for the betterment of himself, the party, and the country.
Most of all, he loses the howler monkeys, the hate machine, and the doubters, who will ALL BE FORGOTTEN, while his record, and unselfish acts will be known forever, and that's 100% wonderful with me.
Great leaders have vision that transcends the short term matters.
His vision includes a younger, revitized party and America whose leaders are more like the populace than himself and the opposition, and who will build upon his tireless, compassionate and bold efforts to move forward with great enthusiasm, energy and resolve.

(4,159 posts)I think Joe wrestled with the decision with God, and felt nudged in that process to hand the baton to Kamala.
Although it wasn't at all easy for him, I have had the strong sense that as he saw the upwelling of support, energy, and joy, that he felt like his obedience was affirmed and that he has come to terms with it, and I suspect has some peace. I hope so.

and unlike most politicians, Joe did the listening rather than the talking.
