It's interesting that despite Judge Cannon's dismissal of the federal criminal charges

against TSF (classified documents) that he hasn't declared that the documents were solely his personal property and they should be returned to him.

Canon made up some bs that smith was unconstitutionally appointed, even though at least five other federal judges and scotus upheld the sc appointments over the years.

Its been appealed, and will be heard in oct or november.

When the appellate court overrules this egregious injustice, can they appoint a different judge?

They can reassign the case.

Unfortunately, they cant fire canon. Although they could impose administrative punishments.

Unlikely they would do more than reassign her though, unless they are really pizzed.

BTW, he's also preparing to sue the DOJ on the basis of an "illegal" search of his premises. That tells me that he thinks the papers are his as they shouldn't have been removed.
