Starbucks CEO's insane salary

The new CEO of Starbucks is getting about $113 million dollars annually in various forms of compensation. This is about 7,900 times the average salary of Starbuck's workers. How do you feel about this??

He no doubt already has more than his share of sweetheart investments and hedge fund holdings that his real wealth comes from. He could lose 80% of it overnight and it wouldn't affect his opulent lifestyle. Dollar figures to people like this is just a way of keeping score.

And the $113M salary was divided up evenly among the employees...

They'd see an extra $7.80 a week in their check.

You think he's the only person in that corporation pulling obscene amounts of money?

The point isn't how much money he makes; it's how many congressmen he's buying with that level of loot

I'd be fine with that money going to housing, healthcare, education, etc.

They've got over 15,000 stores in 80 different nations, over 300,000 employees, work in the food industry which has regulations like you wouldn't believe (worse, every jurisdiction they are in has different ones) and have one of the most complicated supply chains on the face of the earth. They're also the biggest coffee trader out there. There might be ten people in the country who could run Starbucks, and they don't come cheap.

One hundred thirteen million dollars a year is a cubic shitload of money, but it's what you need to pay to get someone who can actually do this job.

Enforce labor laws, including union efforts. Enforce anti-trust laws. Break up megacorps. Hand out jail, not fines (aka cost of biz).

Brew the rich.
