Could the 2024 DNC win an Emmy?!

I think it will at least be nominated, and if so, would probably win. This would get to Trump in a way few other things could! LOL

As best I can tell, Steven Spielberg has a hand in planning this DNC. This article is from April, but I can't imagine he would have changed his mind when Kamala became the candidate.

Steven Spielberg Helping Plan Joe Biden’s Reelection Convention in Chicago

I hope this happens! We deserve some recognition for throwing one helluva party! This is the best damn political convention EVER!

It’s a news event that is being televised by multiple networks so it doesn’t qualify. Just as the State of the Union speech wouldn’t qualify for an Emmy.

Its about excellence in the industry. A nomination like this would likely be in terms of one or more networks' coverage, or even as a special award, but it is not out of the realm of possibility. And it is certainly fun to consider! (at least for some of us)

It will be a year before we know anyhow, but I think this is so unique, so well planned (other than running long on time, but that can happen with any live, televised event, even the Emmys), and such a great blend of news and entertainnent that I think it would be great to see it recognized.

those go to networks and reporters for things like investigative reporting, documentaries, and even reporting on a live event. But there is nothing for the event itself. So theoretically Rachel Maddow could win an Emmy for anchoring coverage of the DNC or ABC win one if they produced a documentary about the convention. But there is no awards for a political party for staging its own convention.

in a spirit of exuberant fun. Nothing else really matters in this moment.

The MAIN point I wanted to make, and haven't had a chance to, is that it looks like Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg were involved in the planning of this convention, and I think that's awesome. This is masterfully done. And that is worth our attention.

Democrats have the best people. Period. It's worth celebrating and feeling some JOY about (however silly you may think it is).

So, let's just leave this here. The last thing I wanted to do was argue about anything. Not now. Not about this. Its not worth it.

In the spirit of things, I just want to have some fun and be happy! I'm done here.

in how well this convention has been done. It just doesn’t qualify to win an Emmy Award.

and Star Trek. Not unusual since the Peabodys are awarded for excellence in TV and Radio.
