Now lets invest in countering the coming Republican legal offense....and it is going to be offensive.
Democracy Docket is where I am putting my money.

(32,133 posts)Trump will wish that Joe Biden was elected because Kamala won't be supporting any institutional decorum when Trump is sentenced to jail time.
I hope Hillary gets to walk with Don as he enters the Presidential Pen that he is assigned to.

(57,757 posts)when Clinton was substantially ahead. Obviously, that didn't turn out as we had hoped. We need to work to turn out every single vote.
The OP, however, seems invested in telling people there is no work to be done. This is the second such thread.

(6,319 posts)The suppression efforts in GA are extreme. Also, what is Mike Johnsons role in certifying election results? Will he have any role at all, or its only VP that matters (Harris)?

So we really need to elect a Democratic majority in the House to eliminate chances for Republican monkey business there.
Retrograde
(11,419 posts)overwhelmingly, but it's the electoral vote that counts. And as we saw in 2016, it only takes a few people in a few key states to swing that.
Hope for the best but expect a slew of GOP tricks come November. And if you're in a swing state, get your friends, relatives, and neighbors to vote blue all the way down.

(32,133 posts)it was a re-direct funding to the legal fight that is coming.

(79,048 posts)it was to supress the vote. I have no idea where that came from. But the focus now -- until November -- needs to be on getting the votes out for Harris. That includes getting independents' votes. There is no reason to assume that we have the luxury of focusing on anything else.
Just for the heck of it, what funds are you suggesting be re-directed, and where should they go?

(32,133 posts)we have. I posted about other Democratic options earlier.

(79,048 posts)The Democracy Docket is a good newsletter. It reaches lots of people, and provides information on voting rights and election litigation. I think it is a great resource. I'm not sure the funding sources, but suspect it would be better in invest in the current elections. We want more than the White House. We want the House and Senate, and offices at the state and city levels, too. If, for example, the DNC and Harris campaign wanted people to refocus their attention on the newsletter, I will speculate that they would communicate exactly that. But it seems more likely that President Obama told the audience last night that we have a very tough fight ahead.

I do feel better than 2016 and even 2020. But the message still needs to be on getting out the vote .
