In an interview after speaking at the Dem convention, Jamie Raskin said that he expects a RW reaction that would not be an exact repeat of the J6 storming of the Capitol. He said that it would likely be a combination of legal challenges, voter suppression at the polls, threats, intimidation, and violence. But he also said that we are prepared for it. There is an army of lawyers for the legal challenges. There are other agencies who are monitoring the situation and ready to act if necessary and called upon.

I do NOT want to dampen our joy and enthusiasm at all by warning about this. In fact, that joy and enthusiasm are good, peaceful "weapons" for the turnout that we need and for supporting pushback against any attempted coup.

We know what Trump is like. We know that he has some strong fascist backers besides his gullible, duped voters. So when they try to undermine Harris-Walz, we will need to stay strong in our enthusiasm and commitment to democracy and avoid getting discouraged or folding up when the opposition gets even more ugly. And it will. The fascists will pull out all the stops. But, together we will hold the line against them and not give up or give in.
