The backlash is growing to Donald Trumps illegal campaign stunt is growing as one family has now expressed their displeasure with Trumps disrespect.
The New York Times reported:
The family of a Green Beret who died by suicide after serving eight combat tours and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery expressed concern on Wednesday that Donald J. Trumps campaign had filmed his gravesite without permission as Mr. Trump stood in an area where campaign photography isnt allowed.
In a statement from Sergeant Marckesanos relatives after being contacted by The New York Times, his sister, Michele, said, We fully support Staff Sergeant Darin Hoovers family and the other families in their quest for answers and accountability regarding the Afghanistan withdrawal and the tragedy at Abbey Gate.
However, she added, according to our conversation with Arlington National Cemetery, the Trump campaign staffers did not adhere to the rules that were set in place for this visit to Staff Sergeant Hoovers gravesite in Section 60, which lays directly next to my brothers grave.

(7,591 posts)Or do they all support using the graves as a place to launch cheap republican political attacks?
Will other republicon draft dodgers get the same opportunities to abuse our Armed Forces? Or is the G.O.P.'s convicted felon somehow "special."

(299 posts)We still think Trump and his campaign are going to abide by rules and the law.
Bullies are going to bully.
Plus, he will have no repercussions for this and other law-breaking actions again.

(24,207 posts)A vet I work with, who is normally apolitical, is furious about this. He buried his wife, also a vet, at the National Cemetary here in Michigan just last year so he's still got that fresh in his mind. He brought it up to the group and he never would normally mention anything political to the group. I replied, "Rules Schmules, he doesn't care." Someone else volunteered with, "He calls our vets suckers and losers." There are at least 2 Trumpsters on our team who just said nothing.
