(6,640 posts)Sometimes I only see the pic icon instead of the pic. It's not always, it's hit or miss, but frankly I lack the technical know-how to say why that occurs or how to remedy it in some fashion.

(26,202 posts)1. I'm volunteering with Gavin Newsom's machine to text voters to suss out volunteers
2. I'm writing out 200 postcards to swing states
How this ties to the amazing sticky note:
1. A woman text me back and said she can't volunteer because of her husband but she will be voting for Harris. She said it would cause too much trouble with her husband if he knew so she wanted to opt out of further texts. I obviously complied and had her removed from our list.
2. Part of the suggested wording for the postcards is "that you voted is public record. Who you voted for is private."
The outreach to women to reassure them the men in their lives will never know who they voted for is definitely a thing, possibly because 'alpha males' who are terrified of being perceived as 'cucks' might be pressuring their women to ensure they vote for TFG
https://www.salon.com/2024/08/14/can-my-husband-find-out-i-am-voting-for-the-big-question-touching-a-nerve-this/
I'm glad it's being confronted. But also, I'm wondering how much this subversive voting will run up margins for Harris that will not be measured by polling. There was a post on DU today that had a Republicans for Harris member was saying other R's are letting him know they're voting for Harris on the DL but will never say that publicly.

(90,011 posts)It's strengthening and solidifying. It means you're NOT alone in how you feel.
I think there are millions of women, by now, who want the government OUT of their bedrooms, OUT of their doctors' offices, and OUT of their doctors' examining rooms.
