On edit. Here is the picture, many thanks to anicianita.

The now infamous campaign photo gets even worse, at least in my opinion. I was looking at the picture again to see how they were reacting, almost all of them smiling, some with their thumbs up. However the two men, second row, far left dont look happy at all. I enlarged the photo and noticed the second man in had two artificial limbs, the right arm and the left leg. The man to his right looks to have his arm around him, perhaps to support him. I have no way of knowing, but I am wondering if he is a veteran
one of those suckers TSF talks about.
Note: I cant post the picture itself but you can view it at the link. It is a safe link to a photo from The Atlantics article.

(22,860 posts)He's repulsed by older women, fat women, flat-chested women, women of color - basically all women who aren't conventionally attractive enough for him to want to grab them by the *cough* (you know, the part of a woman he likes to grab them by).
I honestly believe the only value any woman has for the Orange Hellbeast is based on her looks. To him, women are only good for sex, being a piece of arm candy he can show off, and occasionally (when he was younger) for procreation. (He has more than enough kids at this point, so I'm sure he's done caring about the latter function.)

So I was also shocked to see THEM there, to accept Trump as their guy, or that Trump allowed them in the shot
Either way, thats fucked up.
Maybe they are too locked into Fox Propaganda and never heard trumps demands.
So I guess we should be impressed with trumps bravery to be near them?

(34,850 posts)I've seen lots of revengeful victim's families. I've seen many, many families politicize their child's death.
Keep in mind, this is a very conservative Mormon family. Of course, they want Trump.
Bottom line: This is about Trump, not about the family. The swift boaters are looking to see if the Democrats will disparage a Gold Star family the way Trump did in 2016. Democrats and the press got all over Trump. Now they want Democrats to take the bait.
https://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/31/us/politics/donald-trump-khizr-khan-wife-ghazala.html
This is about Trump and his campaign stunt. His campaign stunt was violation of the federal law. The family is not violating federal law.
Bashing them does nothing to help Kamala win.

(34,850 posts)We're above that. Trump is running for president, not the KIA's family.
Let's make it about him and not a family who happens to be supporting him. They are not hurting anybody. We may not agree with their politics or thumbs up, but if we want to be seen as supporting vets and as Trump seen as not supporting vets, why should we disparage a family just because they're Trump supporters? We then become when we are accusing Trump of!
Us: "Trump is shitting all over Gold Star families"...
Us: "That family is..........."

No idea what political mileage they expected to get from that show of crass disrespect.
Hopefully they all went away, the breeze blew away the bad smell, and Arlington went back to a place of silent reflection and sad faced mourning.
And no thumbs up.

(34,850 posts)So, it could be a friend of MSGT Hoover's.
He could have been with one of the governor's staff members?
He would not be in a family picture, because he is not family?
Maybe he was injured the same attack and he was there to speak. I'm sure he's a likely vet himself and realized the "thumbs up" was not respectful.
We can't assume he's on our side or that Trump is disparaging him.
We really don't know.

(34,850 posts)The hearing's most compelling testimony came from Tyler Vargas-Andrews, a Marine sergeant injured in the Aug. 26, 2021 terror attack at the Abbey Gate at the Kabul airport. He recounted the events leading up to the bombing that left 13 U.S. servicemembers protecting the airport dead, many others injured and scores of Afghan civilians killed.
Vargas-Andrews said he and another Marine assigned to protect the airport received intelligence about a possible suicide bomber approaching the area. He said they spotted him and his associate in the crowd and alerted supervisors and requested authority to engage but never got it. He told the panel he believes those individuals were responsible for the attack. "Plain and simple, we were ignored," he said.
Vargas-Andrews broke down and paused several times as he described the flash of the bomb knocking him off his feet.
"My body was overwhelmed from the trauma of the blast. My abdomen had been ripped open. Every inch of my exposed body took ball bearing and shrapnel." He said no one interviewed him about the attack in the investigation that followed.

He's not a family member. He was there to give a speech against Biden. Ironically, he accused Biden of visiting him for a photo-op. I'm pretty sure the other guy is a congressional aide.
