(1,406 posts)And I almost never get sick. Strong immune system. Havent gotten Covid. Dont get colds. And previous Covid shots had almost no reaction, just a sore arm.
But getting multiple shots last time threw me for a loop.
So, like you, Ill get my Moderna booster on its own this time, too.

(47,502 posts)Both were fine. The new booster I got today was Pfizer, but that is because that's what pharmacy had. I would have gotten Moderna if they had that.

(12,655 posts)Getting #8 tomorrow, dont know which one. No problems with either other than a sore arm for a couple days. Plus I had covid in July, 2022. So tomorrow will be the ninth immune system booster.
I wonder Im 58 should I get pneumonia shot Im not sure Sheltie lover.
I got pneumonia in my early 50s and it wasnt fun. After the 2 shot series I havent even had a cold.

(81,647 posts)How did you manage 8?
I've only had 3...
Wednesdays
(23,092 posts)That will probably be number 8. I've lost count.
SheltieLover
(81,647 posts)Perhaps the 3 I got are still providing immunity although I wear 3M N95 medical grade masks when in public.
Thx for sharing!

(37,985 posts)Post-peak era have been such non-events. I even gritted my teeth and braved a double.
A tetanus booster that has historically been a day out for me was nothing. Not even a sore spot where the jab was unless I touched it.
Certainly, some of the credit goes to the staff of my regular vaccination parlor. They are top notch at their skill.

(81,647 posts)I was expecting to be really sore, but nothing. Just slight tenderness at injection site.

(38,806 posts)They hit me hard. Fever of 103, plus a few days of exhaustion. I switched to Moderns for #8, so at least I don't get debilitating headaches for two months - at least I didn't with the first one.
I'll get #9 in late October, early November, in preparation for being on stage for the December musical (when I'm on stage, unmasked).

(47,502 posts)Novavax is a protein based vaccine and supposedly has less side effects. I do fine with mRNAs so I am not concern about side effects that much.

(37,126 posts)I got my last one in June (my 8th - I had an extra one early on) ... immune-suppressed so I keep up w/them. But I know this one is new formula so I will get it in Sept or Oct.
I also need to do my 2nd shingles and flu vaccines, so I'll be adding them to a couple of upcoming doctor's visits in September.

(47,502 posts)I will get the flu vaccine later. I think it's better to get the flu vaccine later because the flu season usually starts later.

ProfessorGAC
(77,237 posts)Perhaps tomorrow. I'm starting to sub in the new school year so I should add the protection. Probably flu shot, too.

(43,207 posts)Wife called yesterday and they thought early October before getting some in. She called two local drugstores and no vaccine there either.
They have the respiratory vaccine (RSV) in, so probably will get that shot along with the flu shot before we get the COVID vaccine.

We put off flu shot until late September or early October.
