The Republican state government in Texas kicked more than a million registered voters off the rolls.

Does anyone know what is being done to counter that effort, get in touch with those voters and get them registered again, at least, the ones who were planning to vote for Democrats?

I'm just curious what kind of effort kicks in when something like that happens. A few years ago, when Stacey Abrams was running for Governor of Georgia, and they did something similar, there was an organization that kicked in and worked to get those names back on the registration rolls. And in Nevada, they have some kind of organization to contact provisional voters and get them to cure their ballots.

Can those of us in blue states get online and help? Or does it have to be in-state based?

1. Just like MAGA, Texas Republicans really don't like democracy. Just like Trump, our Attorney General seems to think..

Abbot is scum, and he certain is a fan of voter suppression, but this situation is is not as black and white as you depict it. ~500,000 were dead, moved out of state, or asked to be removed. 463,000 were those who hadn’t voted recently and did not respond to mailed confirmation letters from local election boards. This may or not be problematic depending on the criteria. The numbers were for four years and are not out of line for a State with a mobile work force and 18 million registered voters.

All states have similar procedures to maintain their voter rolls.

5. For those who had not recently voted, addresses may be wrong or the notices undelivered given DeJoy's USPS.

I’m still waiting for a birthday card mailed by a friend in another state last year!

A few years ago, the Secretary of State announced that 100,000 people had been purged. Local registrars quickly checked names and ID and informed him that the purged voters were citizens. The effort to kick so many people off the registration lists failed because most of its information was incorrect and out of date and did not include information about people who had become naturalized citizens. In other words, it’s safer not to trust everything that comes from Abbott and Paxton.

For Texans who want to check their voter registration status, here’s the website.

In states like Georgia some people are reporting having been kicked off multiple times. There needs to be harsh Federal laws, enforcement and punishment of anyone who messes with our sacred right to vote.
