When speaking of allowing fracking

there is an opportunity to reiterate that protection of ground water is the highest priority.

Unpolluted water is a natural resource which everyone can support.

If I'm going to be cautiously pro-fracking, water is more important than petroleum products.

I do not need to be "cautiously pro-fracking" to support VP Harris and Governor Walz. NNadir Aug 2024 #2

Our house is on the side of a mountain in NE Pennsylvania. There are no developments uphill so our water supply is incredibly clean, healthy and delicious.

Several years ago, everyone on our “street” (really a rural highway) got a letter from some company offering $1,000 per acre for fracking licenses. Fortunately, everyone along our stretch said, “No, thanks!”

We did know a woman who lived several miles away who agreed and received $500K for her 50 acres. Then she sold the land and moved to Arizona. Nice.

I am not supporting them because of specific policies, because successful politicians are (or should be) reticent about locking themselves into one position or another.

The combustion of fossil fuels is killing the planet. It is not acceptable in any sense. If Kamala Harris is stating something different, either for political triangulation or another reason, or even because she really disagrees with me as to whether it is acceptable, I am untroubled by it and it will not affect my strong support for her candidacy.

I believe that as a strong leader, our next President, Kamala Harris will be free to change her mind. From what I hear, she has said as much. A leader who cannot change his or her or their mind is not a leader.

I am voting for her values, her intellect, and her skills, not her policies.
