Colonel Sherburn

I've been (re-)reading Huckleberry Finn and got to the chapter regarding Colonel Sherburn. In reading that chapter, as well as prior chapters (and -- since I've read the book numerous times -- subsequent chapters), it appears to me that the America of Mark Twain's time: the drunkards and grifters, petty grievances, extreme prejudices, abhorrent racism, and all the low-down most animalistic law-of-the-jungle mentality; succinctly captures the present-day MAGA members. One-hundred-and-sixty-plus years and no one has learned a damned thing. What a disappointing and dismal shame.

Well, at least from 1830 to 1848 when the first woman in the U.S. received a medical degree.

John Kelly said it best. A very very evil person. Let’s hope he eventually gets sentenced to prison for his 34 felony convictions and or the remaining 50 plus felonies he’s been charged with, that have not yet made it to trial. The country and the world needs to be shown, he is not above the law.
