(195,550 posts)There are 3 Tennessees. Thus the 3 stars on their flag. Memphis, Nashville (very liberal but divided but their legislature), and Knoxville which is white/red heavy.

But it voted heavily for Biden in 2020:

(5,230 posts)Sabal palm trees. They are commonly dug up from habitat as land is developed in Florida and transplanted. However, they have almost all their fronds cut off in order to transplant successfully and it takes a year or so to grow them out. These palms at the very beginning have been in place at least a year. Sabals are one of the hardiest palms and mature specimens survived in Dallas in the bad winters of the 80's when temperatures dipped to around 0°F. Dallas was horticultural zone 8a back then, the same as Memphis now. Nashville and Knoxville are either 7a or 7b. I suppose that with some winter protection, in a downtown (heat island) area they could be brought through a normal winter.

(22,333 posts)I will take your word for it, as you sound very knowledgeable.
I've lived most of my adult life too far north for any palms to survive outdoors, so my knowledge of them is admittedly very limited.

(2,908 posts)A huge crowd because it's a blue city. Memphis and Nashville are the two blue cities in Tennessee. The rest of Tennessee has a bunch of MAGA shit kickers.
