3. Frankly, I don't give a shit. Sorry for the language, but where was she when Trump could have been shut down?

What was she doing when there could have been consequences for the diaper don? Hm? Oh, she was being herself, the good old conservative Republican that she was, is and always will be.

Her and that Adam guy. Don't trust them. None of them. They'll turn on us when it suits them, I guarantee it. They won't stop being Republicans, they just want to advance themselves as anti-Trump, when it works for them. And don't give me any nonsense about how it's hurt them politically. That's not where the money is, it's in those books and speaking gigs and corporate board positions.

7. Yes, she was doing her Republican thing in the House while Trump was in office, like all the other Republicans.

What of it? Just what were she and Adam supposed to have done about Trump back then? The House DID impeach Trump twice, and they didn't require Republican help to do it. It was the Republicans in the Senate who prevented him from experiencing the consequences of being removed from office. I don't know what else anyone in the House could have done at the time.

What matters, imo, is that after J6, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger saw what terrible things TSF had done, and they stepped up to the plate to serve on the Select Committee. They were the ONLY Republicans, out of 215 in the House, who were willing to roll up their sleeves and incur the wrath of their party to pursue consequences for the Orange Hellbeast. That's NOT nothing.

IMO, that committee did a hell of a job, not just investigating but publishing their report and conducting public hearings on TV in prime time to educate the American public. After that, they did what they were empowered to do, which was to submit a full report to the DOJ, along with the evidence they had collected.

We don't yet KNOW what consequences TSF will face or what role the J6 committee's work may play in prosecuting him, but he HAS been indicted for the crimes he committed in connection with J6, and as long as he loses in November, he WILL be tried for those crimes in a court of law. That's when we will be able to see the fruits of the J6 committee's labors, Jack Smith's labors, and the labors of everyone else involved in investigating him and bringing him to justice.

(No, I can't prove that will happen, but you can't prove it won't, either. We'll all just have to wait and see.)

What I do know for sure, because it's a mater of public record, is that Cheney and Kinzinger both participated in something important and historic that no other House Republicans would touch with a 10 foot pole. That's NOT nothing, either.

You don't have to like Cheney or Kinzinger or their politics or believe that giving up their political careers was difficult for them. I don't like their politics myself, but that's beside the point, as far as I'm concerned. No matter what their politics are or were, I think they deserve to be recognized for their service on the committee and the work they did, the same as the Democrats who served. I don't see how you can claim they did nothing of value without claiming that Bennie Thompson, Zoe Lofgren, Adam Schiff, Jamie Raskin, and the others also did nothing of value.

I'm not claiming Liz and Adam are angels. I just think they did something worthwhile and they are entitled to be recognized for that.

I know I can't convince you that they did anything noteworthy by standing up to the other 213 Republicans in the House and doing what was right or that flushing their political careers down the drain was a painful sacrifice. We can agree to disagree about that. I'll just leave you with this quote from Albus Dumbledore:

“There are all kinds of courage. It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.”

Standing up to one's (erstwhile) friends and colleagues is also not nothing.

But right now she is (contining to) step up against drumph, and now for Harris.
Every new vote for Kamala that might being influenced by Liz Chenney is a win for us, and Democracy.

We can go back to fighting more about all the other critical stuff once our country has been secured against drumphf getting back in the WH!

I see no reason not to celebrate any vote we get for Harris. Nothing is being asked in return. Thinking that someone not voting for Trump or voting third party is as good as voting for our candidate got has been proven to be a really piss poor way of thinking.

Kamala Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon on Liz Cheney’s endorsement:

“The Vice President is proud to have earned Congresswoman Cheney’s vote. She is a patriot who loves this country and puts our democracy and our Constitution first…Vice President Harris will be a president for all Americans, regardless of political party. For any American who is looking to reject the chaos and division of Donald Trump, turn the page, and pursue a new way forward that protects our freedoms and defends the American values we all believe in, there is a place for you in the Harris-Walz coalition, and we will continue working to earn your support.”
