Pretending for a moment that figure is anywhere near true...What kind of person is "undecided" in this race?
Not enough contrast between the candidates?
Are people really that uninformed...?...that stupid?

(4,637 posts)If there really are that many "undies," I hope most break for Harris.
But I find it strange that "likely voters" would be undecided.

(77,277 posts)Besides, I don't think undecided means what we think it means in regular language.
I think a lot of "undecideds" simply haven't been paying that much attention & what it likely means is the don't know. Not that they're mulling anything over. Just procrastinating.

(24,079 posts)Read the statement carefully- it says 20% of previously undecided voters which means if previously, 10% of voters were undecided, now just 2% are.
Its a weird, confusing, awkwardly phrased statement, and I dont really get the point.
ProfessorGAC
(77,277 posts)Pretty sure we're making the same point.
Focusing on the 20% seems silly, when the inverse actually has more meaning.

(1,962 posts)Or am I just confused? Or are 80% of formally undecided now decided? And who have they decided for? And where do journalists go to school?

(17,802 posts)I doubt there is a large pool of undecided voters.
Undeclared, that i can believe.
The bullwark is saying a lot of republicans will secretly vote for harris, but they wont say that publically.
They want a blowout for harris.
But on the other side, are racist/mysoginistic voters who dont want to be shamed.
I suspect the gop for harris is the larger group. But these are borrowed votes. They will go back for the next non maga candidate.

(1,791 posts)There are people who will make this claim, but they're liars. They're going to vote for Trump but they don't want people to think they're stupid, insane, or both.
If there was a normal Republican running against Kamala Harris, then I might be persuaded that some might still be going back and forth on a couple of issues. But between Trump and Harris? Oh, be serious. You either have sense, or you're a dimwitted MAGA voter. There's nothing in between in this race. You are sane, or you're a raving lunatic.

(14,374 posts)Why would they refer to continued undecided as former undecided? I think they need to overhaul their AI headline writer. Its a moron.
