(1,787 posts)I like to upset the "Christian" shoppers during "the" "Holyday" in the winter. They'll be going around, loudly wishing everyone "Merry CHRISTmas". I just smile and say, "And a Blessed Solstice to you.". Watch them burn.
The clerks actually have to bite their lips to keep from smiling. Not everyone who works there are believers, or not that weird kind. I've never had one say anything bad to me when I wish them "Happy Holidays!".
At my last job, it was becoming a big thing for callers to end the call by saying, with emphasis, for me to have a blessed day. I'd always say loudly and with great mirth "You too!". There would be silence, then they'd hang up. Made my miserable day so much better.
Happy Holidays and Merry Xmas have been around for a long, long time. If you watch old movies, you'll see it and hear it, back into the 30s, if not earlier. People get up on their high horse about it, but even the early Christians made themselves known with an X.
So, all these people need to get Trump and his nonsense shoved into their faces at every opportunity. What are they going to do? Whine and cry, they're so persecuted! Call the whaaambulance!

That the m.o. was for the company to be all-Fundie and zero-computer, that the top management type begged the owner to employ computer management of stuff (inventory, payroll, routine whatever) which he totally refused, that the owner dude had it in his Will that absolutely no/zero beneficiaries/relatives could reverse his all-Fundie/zero-computer thing and that any of them who went contrary was disinherited toute-suite. This local dude was top level executive status, then had a personal crisis of daughter's giant medical condition and needed to quit to focus on coping with that. He said that he was forfeiting all employment benefits, but the big guy granted him some kind of medical benefits coverage.
Do I need to say I'm totally anti-Fundie?
