And yes, I know it should be "bear fruit" and not "bare fruit" - and I'm sure she knows that, too. But typos happen, especially online.
@JoyceWhiteVance
Seeing more of this. Don't give up on having conversations with people about what's going on. The seeds you plant will bare fruit, especially as Trump continues to spiral downward into incoherence and hate.
@Logically_JC
My neighbor took down his Trump sign this morning.

Sogo
(7,244 posts)that one wonders.
My comment was in reaction to those comments that seemed to ASSUME it was because the person was no longer a Trump supporter. I'm just saying to them don't make that assumption and that our mission remains the same.

An existential threat to DEMOCRACY.
but I'd wager a majority of them, who became increasingly EMBOLDENED in openly displaying their hate and malice
have, since the DNC Convention, come to the realization that a SIGNIFICANT number of Americans are opposed to their fascist agenda.
Bigotry and hate will always be around. But the rest of us shouldn't have to abide by it.

(7,861 posts)but the best thing *rump and the R party could have done for us was publish and boast about Project 2025. Once they did that, it cleared the way for the Democrats and Independents (and unhappy R's) to really push out into the public exactly what it says and means.
Say what you want about Americans, and we DO have a hell of a lot of faults compared to other societies, but we love our freedom, and completely resist anyone trying to take it away from us. Witness the uprising of women since Dobbs! Yet still, they discount us as "not important enough" to be worried about. Yeah... right. Keep on thinking that, Mr. Republican.

(38,299 posts)..."but her emails" campaign. I very much doubt it.
ShazzieB
(22,732 posts)The "controversy" about the emails had been harped on in the media and by Trump for a long time before Comey pulled his coup de grâce. A certain segment of the voters were already convinced by months of prior conditioning that "her emails" were a serious issue. His actions simply reinforced those beliefs. I doubt he convinced anyone who wasn't pretty much convinced already.
With Harris-Walz, it's hard to imagine some brand new issue (because that's what it would have to be) suddenly popping up at this late date and having that kind of an impact. I'm worried about a lot of things concerning this election, but that one is very low on the list.
NNadir
(38,299 posts)They haven't.
They have not made all that big a deal over the fact that the thug they support and legitimize is in fact a convicted criminal, certainly not at the level they were harping on Secretary Clinton's server.

(12,728 posts)What's with the ugly black and white signs with a blurry picture of Trump? The only legible word as you drive-by is Trump. They are white with blurry lettering. I've seen them before. Is it what the GOP are giving away? They look cheap enough.
Why such cheap and crappy signs? No color, illegible, blurry and small with a lot of blank space. Can't Repukes afford anything better?
I can't find an image to post. Maybe my neighbor made it himself.

Fortunatley, I don't personally know any of these people, but unfortunatley I don't know the story behind it so am left imagining it is a good thing and they are seeing the light. A house near me flew a GIANT "F*#K BIDEN" flag off the corner of his house for 3 years. It would get tattered and he replaced it 3 times! Then about 1 year ago it was gone and nothing since. Would love to know what's going on in his head,

(1,056 posts)...they actually DO have a bottom. I was out when he started in with Birtherism. I wasn't aware of his activities in the 70s and 80s much, but thought he was creepy in the 90s. It is nice to see the fever breaking. If he wins, it will be by cheating. He has a 40% ceiling and we are seeing GOP defections to Harris (or 3rd Party). Still, let's work like we are 10 points behind.

(25,063 posts)This area is predominantly red. There are plenty of Trump signs but only a few Harris banners. Most of the Trump supporters have gone crazy with signs, flags, posters, etc. The front lawn of one house next to our post office has 12 different things promoting Trump. They are crazy people!
Still, I think PA will go Democratic.

(3,313 posts)When we Rode with my rather hard core brother-in-law from Kent up to Grande River, OH. to have dinner...he drove straight up through Geauga County with the Dark Side signs everywhere...the last time I was up there was in 2020 and it unnerved me so badly that I swore I would never return. Next time we will meet them instead of riding along...God it was not fun. So I don't think there is any hope for rural Ohio of ever coming out of the haze...JD is the proof.
mucholderthandirt
(1,789 posts)It's a pretty brick house, whitewashed, picket fence around the front yard. The owners kept it up, really pretty plantings, loads of flowers.
They had a huge Bush sign just outside the fence, by the road (busy, busy road). That was the first election. Second election, smaller sign, and it was behind the fence. The only way you could see it was if you looked down just at the right time as you drove by.
Since then, not a single election anything, the house is falling apart, the yard is full of weeds. Not sure that it says anything profound, but I have to wonder how sorely treated they felt by the Republicans.
Meanwhile, in other news, my neighbor's Trump sign in in the weeds, leaning over so much it's hard to read. They normally have their yard nice, everything mowed and weed-eated. But a couple of months ago the Trump sign moved from the side of the driveway where it was easily seen, weeds kept down. What is this saying about their support?
There were about five or six houses yesterday that I saw with newly-sprouted Trump signs. Not seeing a lot of Harris signs yet, but I suspect they're coming. I'm seriously thinking about that long banner sign someone posted in another thread. I'd hang it along the side of my run-down trailer, where it will shock all the people that think we're so poor we must be MAGA.
Yeah. I'm kind of evil like that.
