(90,775 posts)We just lost our friend, ally, and wise one, The Magistrate. I'm really not in any mood to lose anybody else right now.

(34,852 posts)I liked him too, but he seemed to bother other posters because he was "well connected".
He's still active on twitter.

(13,076 posts)FFR - Flagged for Review - happens automatically when 5 or more posts are removed in a 90 day period. I think admins sometimes put people on that status too if they choose to. They can't post while on FFR status. It's conceptually a temporary thing, but I see profiles that have been FFR'd for years. I've also seen people restored to Active status after being FFR'd.
PPR - Posting Privileges Revoked - I think of this as being final, I don't know anyone that has talked their way back to Active status from a PPR.
Disclaimer - I'm not an expert, and have no powers other than what's on my "powers" button (I can self-delete my own post and I can add any of my posts to my journal. IOW no power over others).
I do take notes on things I learned from the old and long-gone "Ask The Administrators" forum and recently the "DU Community Help" forum for example - this thread for example is full of things I didn't know .

(558 posts)his thoughtful posts during the time that there was pressure for Biden to step down. There wasnt a lot of wriggle room for too much dialogue then

(38,538 posts)...a little, shall we say, edgy.
I only lived in Brooklyn the first two years of my life, but Brooklyn never left me because Brooklyn never left my father.
Been there, done that...
I'm trying to. um, "get better."
I liked Brooklynite generally, not always, but generally. I hadn't noticed he was gone, but now that you mention it, I often liked his stuff.

(34,852 posts)Someone moaned about the paywall.
He responded: "I think people should pay for media Youll have to find the extract sufficient.". He appeared out of touch and tone deaf.
People got mad because he has money and is perceived as uppity and was compared to a Republican.
He got piled on.
He had posts removed in the thread
He also had been "pushing the envelope" in several other posts.

(40,431 posts)He was posting about how large donors had serious concerns about the viability of Biden's election chances and that got some of the more ardent Biden supporters mad.
LeftInTX
(34,852 posts)That's when he got his first 5 hides and was flagged for review. He and others were given a reprieve when Biden officially dropped out but the 5 hides were still there. When he got another or more, he was put back on FFR status.

(32,764 posts)I had a few battles with him when he insisted Pa. needed to nominate a moderate, Conor Lamb over Fetterman. Maybe the Democratic brass wanted a moderate, Lamb, but I knew that Fetterman was more popular being from Pa.
All arguments within the rules back then.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
