We can endlessly discuss Motherfuckers cognitive impairment and insanity here in our little fishbowl, but until the national and legacy media starts reporting it with screaming headlines, the reach is small.
When I comment in BezPo, formerly WaPo, I always include the question, Why arent your cub reporters writing about the derangement spewed forth by the convicted felon and rapist? It draws eyes on the subject to a small degree, but until it has an impact on that rags bottom line it means very little.
Legacy media needs to be taken to the woodshed and metaphorically beaten with a switch over this miscarriage and malpractice of journalism.
The power of millions of subscriptions being cancelled is our power and we should use it.

(4,768 posts)The republican party is very white and very male, way more so than the Democratic party. The republican party gets all the passes and none of the scrutiny by the corporate media and press. It's basically a snapshot of America.

(74 posts)I unsubscribed from the NYT but was able to read it free online through my community college's library, so I'm not paying them a cent but still able to monitor their (mostly) BS and enjoy the good parts.

(60,320 posts)Reporters read social media too.
Calling them out for not reporting is a good call, but the really effective way to get them to actually cover it is to keep talking about it so that others talk about it and then the reporters pick up "oh, people are interested in it."

(1,791 posts)The only solution is for Democrats to help Harris remove the monopoly on people buying up all the stations. We need to break up the media. Enforce equal coverage, no political bias. The so-called "liberal media" is a lie, and has been for decades.
There's nothing in it for any station to be fair to all, because big money owns it and profits from it being used against those who don't toe the line.
Even the MSNBC thing people are so fond of. Break it up. Put rules in place. Enforce the rules.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
