I have read all comments so far and have an evolving opinion about Taylor Swift timing.

In my original post, I wrote that it was bad timing as it would suck up the oxygen of publicity that should have gone to Kamala's debate performance. I have read all replies, and accept I may well be wrong. Thank you to all who reply, including those who agree or disagree.

Incidentally, my wife is a Swiftie, and I am a semi-Swiftie. Our Youtube is mostly Taylor Swift! My wife has been annoyed at me showing my
excitement of the possibility of a Taylor Swift endorsement and what an impact it would have, so I am very pleased that TS has done it. It is
a very courageous move as she already has a target on her back.

Annnnnnywy, back to Taylor Swift, the point is to bring in NEW voters. Lots and lots and lots of them. Harris won the election tonight. In part because of her amazing debate performance- but history is going to show just how impactful the Swift endorsement was.

Taylor Swift said she watched the whole debate, and this is her response.

She got a million+ Instagram likes in under half hour.

How many of those fans will go watch the debate tonight even if only to have the same experience that Taylor Swift did? To join the excitement?

That would hit far less powerfully tomorrow.

Taylor's statement about having watched the debate and doing her research on candidates stances was excellent. She had to make her statement right away because rightwing media was increasingly lately trying to portray her as MAGA because she hadn't spoken out yet. She also announced her support for Biden and Harris 4 years ago at time of VP debate so it makes sense.

It may come as a shock to discover that there are many people who aren't at all interested in Taylor Swift or other celebrities and aren't influenced by celebrity endorsements. I'm old, and until a few months ago I couldn't have picked her out of a lineup. I do realize now that she is very popular, and it's in her favor that she loves cats and is a childless cat lady, but I don't think many people over 35 will find her endorsement overwhelming.
