Another chestnut from my dear departed father

My father had a well defined measurement about people.

You could be a "jackass". This was level one. That person was a jerk, but could be easily excused and tolerated. You might willingly have a drink with the guy (this is guys only--you don't call women asses) and it might be an okay night.

Level two: he called the person an "ass". This is a person that might have a redeeming quality, but you'd have to look for it pretty hard. Having a drink with this person was absolutely out of the question. It wouldn't go well.

Then Level 3--a "horse's ass". This was the ultimate. This was someone without redeeming qualities. If you can avoid this person then you should. You are absolutely entitled to treat this person with disdain and then get away from this person as soon as possible.

Trump is, of course, a horses ass.
