The pundits framed this debate as, Harris isnt well known, she needs to do more to tell people about herself.
Swifts endorsement immediately after the debate received something like 3.5 million likes within an hour. Her message is going to reach millions and millions of people who barely have a passing interest in politics. These people really dont know who Kamala Harris is.
But in the morning theyll google her, and the stories that come up will all be about how she dominated Trump, alongside video clips of her smacking him down over and over again.
There couldnt be a more perfect moment for millions of people to suddenly tune in to the presidential race.

(4,224 posts)rather than this one, but Taylor isn't a political operative.
Nonetheless, of course I am glad to see the endorsement!

(23,258 posts)winning one news cycle is not as important as timing the announcement so that it has the maximum possible impact on the people that it is intended to reach. Millions of previously disinterested people will be taking their first look at Harris tomorrow morning and the headlines are going to be very positive. Its the perfect time for these people, a majority of whom will be young women, to be introduced to Harris. I note that the campaign just happened to add all their policy proposals to their website a couple of days ago too.
(Your post does make me wonder whether this was coordinated to the extent that if the debate hadnt gone so well, Swift would have held off in order to make a bigger splash later on

Of course a Reporter framed a question to him like "Are you concerned more Republicans aren't supporting you openly?
Biden replied something like "not yet, look it's along way to the election and I think YOU are going to see some more as we go along".
The Republicans and celebrities are asking the campaign when do you want my endorsement public?
W. Bush is the BIG ONE. It will land like a turd in a punchbowl at MaraLoco.
