When TSF was bashing Joe, Kamala came back with, you aren't running against Joe, you are running against me.
I felt ambivalence when she said that, but it had to be said. Joe will get his reward from historians, one of the greatest presidents ever.

(38,391 posts)...Washington to surrendered his office for the good of the country.
History will praise him highly for this alone, but much else as well.

(7,593 posts)He had a couple pieces of landmark legislation early on in his presidency. Then in 1968, between the Tet Offensive, Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination, and Robert F. Kennedy's assassination, things pretty much went to hell in a handbasket on him.

I forgot about that case. Vietnam aside, for which I do not hold him entirely responsible, he, LBJ, was a very good President. In historian rankings, he does quite well.

(2,760 posts)Can-Utility and the Coastliners is the fourth song on the 1972 album Foxtrot.
Can-Utility appears to be a word-play on the name of an old King, Canute (also spelled Kanute, or Knut) The Coastliners are his followers who in one version of the story are sycophants needing to be shown the truth, and in the other are the ones exposing the delusions of the king. Hacketts lyrics seem to weave elements of both tales into one.

I will go to my grave believing that President Biden planned this coup de grace from his inauguration forward, 'faked' his 'decline' during his debate to bring VP Harris fully prepared to take the mantle. President Biden did the right thing with brilliance and aplomb.

(17,698 posts)I was furious with the orange blob when he said "Biden was the worse president in the history of our country". I know no one pays attention to what the sociopathic liar says but for a second, it really pissed me off more than he usually does.

(12,011 posts)But I'm glad she didn't take the bait and defend him like she did in the interview. I was glad she did defend him in the interview, but it's time to move on from being the loyal VP who always defends him and stand on her own.

If Trump said that, Biden is doing something right.

(12,011 posts)Trump and the GOP have been trying to make it a referendum as if she's already the one in charge. And it's not like she threw him under the bus. She just made Trump look silly for continuing to focus on the wrong opponent, which amazingly he still did again after that by bringing up Hunter Biden. He looked really foolish.
