Two of the houses outside our development had Trump signs yesterday. Just drove by and the signs are gone, There is a third house on this street that had a sign too. I will check it on the way back.
Update: The sign is down in the third house as well! Only one neighbor on the next street over has a Trump sign up.

(13,846 posts)I just did a quick count and all MAGAT signs are still present and accounted for.

(2,950 posts)Dropped his pants and taken a big poop on stage the other night and MAGA would still say he won the debate, and they are still voting for him.

(511 posts)My wife has a theory that the suppressed wives married to Trumpancys might decide to do the right thing when the curtain closes on the voting booth! After all, if their cult leader can lie about everything whats the harm in a few million women saying yes, Bubba I voted for Trump, now do you want me to fetch four or five beers for you right now from the frig and yes I fixed dinner for ya

(1,322 posts)Lot less Trump signs this year in the Catskills but I bet they still are voting for him. Most of these people are about image, the "weird" branding struck a nerve.

(1,322 posts)While some are facscst a lot of the supporters in my area are uninformed Republicans they were that way before trump and will be that way for the future my area is 68 percent Republican. Rural NY.
Have a conversation about politics and most get lost pretty fast, their family was Republican so so are they.
I have to say I know democrats who are just as policy ignorant too. Just people to lazy to follow the news.
The idiots with the FJB flags I would call fascist.

(36,594 posts)I also live in red hell. My neighbors are also fascists. Ive been here my whole life. I know these people. They are fucking despicable, Ive had a whole life of experience with them.

(544 posts)Harris-Walz signs. Mine got taken from my yard Friday night and another 2 signs in my neighborhood for Harris and Walz also disappeared. One of those was replaced with a BIG new Harris-Walz sign. My replacement is on order! A-hole thieves! Criminals, just like the guy they support!

(5,482 posts)We check our Kamala/Walz sign every morning. If having the sign stolen is the worst to happen, well,..... I'll count ourselves lucky.

(14,374 posts)Four years ago they were everywhere. This year I have seen only one sign.
There is one oversized pickup truck that cruises up and down Wilma Rudolph Blvd in Clarksville every weekday at rush hour. Normally he is flying a ridiculously large Trump flag and ginormous American flag and aggressively zooming in and out of traffic. It is impossible not to see him. Today he just has an American flag waving behind him. I actually laughed when I realized he had removed his Trump flag today.

(10,281 posts)You can actually get in a lot of trouble. Next time Id put a sign warning people that it against the law to steal it. Although we do know the Magats are fond of breaking the law so it might just make it more likely to do it.

(7,370 posts)Had my yard sign stolen.
Bought another one and attached a hand-written sign to it:
"If you steal this sign, I'll just buy another one, thereby giving more money to my candidate XXX"
That, and a little razor wire on the sign STOPPED the thefts.....
BlueKentuckyGirl
(544 posts)Not a bad suggestion, but where would I buy it in a very small amount?

(7,370 posts)My neighbor gave me some trimming from one of her bushes.
Out here in the desert a lot of vegitation has incredible thorns and spikes (thank you, evolution) that prevent animals from eating the plants. She cut off some and I attached it to the top of the sign. The other great thing was it was really hard to see at night. But if anybody tried to grab the sign.......hooo boy they were in for a nasty surprise.
Additionally I moved the signs away from the sidewalk, so anybody attempting a theft would be trespassing on my property. That, and cameras kept the assholes at bay.
If you don't have any thorn bushes (I think rose bush branches would work as well) some duct tape and long nails would work.
Get creative!! We're SMARTER THAN THEY ARE!!
BlueKentuckyGirl
(544 posts)My boyfriend suggested the same. I have a huge volunteer blackberry bush out front next to the sidewalk. He suggested we put long handles on the bottom of the sign and stick it down into the blackberry bush right in the middle. Anyone trying to take the sign would get a nasty surprise and maybe it would snag and ruin a favorite shirt or something. THAT would make them mad!

(7,541 posts)maybe 5 or 6 on a fence. This week, the signs are gone and there is a gate closed over the driveway. My thought is nonpayment of rent and they got kicked out...but that is just a guess.

Vote for Democrats!
But also, in front of a firing range:
Democrats will take your guns
Vote Republican
I've seen a few trump signs here and there as i drive around my red county, and a number of Harris Walz bumper stickers, a few Biden Harris ones.
Those and the vote for Democrats signs make me smile.

(18,613 posts)Explain the psychological process of switching from Trump to Harris.
So... 2 days ago all the Trump crap was a-ok and today it's not because Harris ran laps around him.'
I personally think there are ZERO undecideds or fence sitters.
Either you like cauliflower or it makes you gag.

(11 posts)not going to vote. That's my game plan with people I think are kinda reachable. I'm not hopeful that I can convert any of them. I am just trying to keep them from voting for Trump.

(52,344 posts)They have voted for Trump before and Trumper friends gave them signs for free because they're on a main drag. Then they saw the debate and changed their minds.

(1,783 posts)Like all those Republicans who claim to support Harris now. They are still the same idiots who were Trumpers yesterday, last week, last month. They'll still vote for Trump. Mike Pence, Dick Cheney, all of them. March right on and vote for the idiot.
If it wasn't so, they wouldn't be Republicans any more. Because nothing in Harris' campaign, nothing in the Democratic platform lines up with their stated ideology. Not one single thing. They're just trying to get other Republicans to get rid of Trump, and we'll be right back where we were before the orange idiot came along. They've learned to hide it better. The next Project 2025 won't be so easy to find. The evil plans they have for most of us won't be on full display. They'll be sneaky little rats like they were before they slipped up with ol' Ronnie Raygun.

(52,344 posts)For as long as I have lived here, it seems like it has been a bastion of conservatives, but I'll add one fateful observation: If your livelihood depends on customer references, local Democrats are not above playing the same reindeer games that undermine a community. And that would go both ways.
Bottomline: Peer pressure. The people who once voted for Trump may not be in favor of him because the local social networks are moving middle left.

Frankly, I believe this area is more influenced by business-social relationships than political philosophies.
