2. She is right, but there is more

Trump actually ran a somewhat, slightly decent campaign that focused on some actual issues in 2016. He talked a lot about outsourcing (which he lost jobs), ending the wars (which he didn't), even opposed a pipeline (drill baby drill). While it was mostly generalities, he did talk like he did give a shit about the factory workers (he doesn't). His campaign was not that terrible in 2016. He was also "comedic", for that time and place his idiocy had "charm" I guess, he was different and I think that's what people wanted. HRC was a skilled professional politician, been in DC for decades. It was the true "outsider" the American people were seeking. Trump barely won even though he literally ran the best campaign he could and HRC had a hit job done against her in the 11th hour and the years of disparaging Clinton also cost. But the American people wanted to "try it out", a guy like Trump. WELL, we saw what we got. And we now see what he really is.

Trump is not the same guy as he was then, at least as a campaigner. He's always been a racist slime ball oligarch. But his current campaign is an exercise in embarrassment. He's a one trick pony, has one issue (the border) he seemingly talks about, killed that bill and mostly bloviates about crowd size and how "these people are horrible" nonsensical bullshit, whining and grievance politics. He has become even less intelligent, less engaged, more cantankerous, more self-absorbed and more unhinged. He's the biggest assclown to ever run for the highest office in the land. The fact he won in 2016 is a black stain on our nation, but we get a pass on that decision if we soundly reject him a 2nd straight time.

And I see no change.

Hillary dragged him, multiple times.

Biden made him look silly in 2016.

He's so intellectually "not curious" that he has no interest in becoming a better debater.

All he had to do was memorize a few facts and maybe make up a heart wrenching story or two.

Instead... he just repeats nonsense he reads off of Twitter.

in some ways, we're lucky that Trump is so incompetent.

I wouldn't want to think of the "next Trump" if he/she can speak clearly, has the intellect to debate with facts and has charisma to entice the cult.
