I used to smoke pot every day but have not for years. With the passage of legalization in 2 states now (yay!) I wonder who's smoking now?

(123 posts)and ask yourself why cancer rates shot up at the same time doctors were stopped from prescribing cannabis...

(15,438 posts)Use Carnivora - a simple venus flytrap extraction that's been successfully used against cancer.
Personal experience with Carnivora:
According to any physician you ask (and I advise you to ask them), colitis is incurable. My husband (now 49) contracted colitis back in 2007 where he had power bowel movements and bled profusely. We really were alarmed at how badly he bled, not to mention the horrific stomach cramps he suffered on a daily basis - sometimes a little less, sometimes extreme.
After his endoscopic examination, his gastroenterologist told him that 20 centimeters of his large intestine was infected and that although he could prescribe medicine to alleviate the symptoms, this was a disease that can't be cured. It could be "controlled", but it was going to be expensive. He would also have to completely change his diet forever and at least twice a year, suffer those bloody bowel movements, and spend over $350 a month for at least four months on the medicine to suppress the symptoms.
Then I discovered Carnivora. In addition to the medicine to suppress the horrible symptoms, I began giving him the Carnivora concentrated droplets in a small bottle of water that he had to slowly drink over the day. I used 30 droplets a day. Within the first day, the cramps stopped but there was still bleeding. Bleeding subsided within three-four days completely. After a month, when he was due for a return visit, the gastroenterologist was surprised because every centimeter of the twenty, was pink and clean. He was cured.
Just recently (due to his own negligence five years after he was cured of it since he's a Dutchman and LOVES eating chunks of cheese) he had another flare-up but was acting stubborn when I told him to take his Carnivora. Anyway, making a long story short, I only learned of it when it was unmanageable for him. I immediately got those small bottles of water and put 30 droplets in, telling him to spread drinking the water over the entire day. Two weeks later, he's cured and is doing perfectly fine.
Read what the discoverer of Carnivora says here: A Note from the Dr. Keller

I have never used MJ, even in my teen or young adult years. I have never seen the need for it. But I stand with people who believe this harmless herb/plant had been unjustly demonized and made illegal because of politics rather than the safety of the public. We absolutely should legalize MJ because it's, my opinion, just ridiculous to place it in with more damaging even deadly drugs. MJ is neither.

(31,170 posts)In my never ending collection of weird health problems, I now have severe joint pain. I HATE the pain meds I have to take for it, and would try pot for it if I could. I'm told it might help. I tried pot during chemo treatment a few years ago, and it just makes me itchy.
If I were in Washington now, I WOULD try it again, in other forms.

(12,132 posts)and I used to smoke every day but haven't in many years.
If it became legal for recreational use where I live I would probably smoke occasionally.
If it became legal for medicinal use I might develop a glaucoma or something. Is "hitch in my git-along" a valid medical necessity?

(5,764 posts)When I first started smoking as a teenager, I always felt apprehensive. Later on, those feelings went away entirely, especially when I feel secure in my own home. I think they were associated more with just doing something that I knew was illegal. I've always been a rule follower (except for the smoking pot part), and the thought of being arrested and put in jail, is mortifying to me.

(12,233 posts)is not worth it... I also rarely drink... I don't need a DUI on my record and I don't want to sit around getting sloshed in front of the kid either.
If it was legalized, I'd probably smoke it on occasion, and more for medicinal reasons than to get high... Its great for cramps, stomach aches, muscle aches, neck pain, headaches, and achy joints.

(1,663 posts)Smoked infrequently with friends but I have never been into smoking anything really. Also went out for a few drinks back when I was younger. Having a child changed all that and I only rarely drink on a social occasion.
Now that I am older I don't feel the need to go back to any of that. I would just like weed to be legalized as a choice for medical reasons. I am not sure if i would use it but I like the idea of the option being legal.
glowing
(12,233 posts)of the properties in over the counter creams for aches and pains combined with a marijuana oils extract. It would sooth the pains out very nicely; especially before heading to bed.
I'm not too into smoking it myself. I wouldn't want my child exposed to the "smoke" and the smell. There was a girl in South Carolina that made peanut butter marijuana. It was absolutely amazing (better than any "pot brownies" or other types of "prepared" recipes). Taking a piece of toast and smearing it with the peanut butter was awesome... And it was very soothing, more "medicinal" feeling, and I didn't get cotton mouth or red eye from it. Of course, this was back in my college days, so a good 10 yrs or so ago. I would think something like that would be a very appreciated item for people who wish pain alievement, but don't want to smoke it... And the side effects that sometime bother people like anxiety rushes or the crawly feeling they get on their skin (if they are sensitive), were not present with this peanut butter. It was absolutely amazing. I always felt it was too bad that marijuana could not be legalized because there are many ways to use it... And not become the stereotypical "cheech and Chong" portrayal that many have about the plant.
On an entirely different subject, hemp, should totally become legal to grow. There is no "high" and as an industry, hemp is so useful for so many different uses and needs. Like paper, clothes, fuel, paint... Hemp used to be a national crop and patriotic to grow. Absolute collusion between chemical companies (DOW) and forestry industry to destroy a crop that was so useful... And much more environmentally safe than chemicals and cutting down trees and milling into pulp paper products. Literally, grocery bags could be made of hemp and cheap enough to dispose of like a plastic bag without the horrible environmental impacts that plastic causes... Or strong enough to re-use. There really is no reason the govt can give for not allowing a hemp industry to grow to fruition. Importing materials is what causes the expense on the products now.

(10,409 posts)LOL, I am a 66, grew up in the 60s, demonstrated against the Viet Nam war in college, all that good stuff but I never smoked pot. I would have but I aspired to be a lawyer and back in those days if you were caught smoking pot you'd never get admitted as a lawyer so I stayed away from it. My friends were cool about it, never broke my chops, even went to the basement or outside during parties so I could never be caught in the room with it if there was a bust.
When I tell my kids this they roll their eyeballs, laugh and tell me I am full of it. They just can't believe that anyone who grew up as a 60s flower child hasn't smoked pot.

(1,695 posts)Married to a wonderful woman who also smokes daily. We both have great jobs and it is our only "vice". I also weightlift & run regularly. I do not wander around high all day. I complete all activities I need done, then sit back & hit my bong. Love it. Don't care what anyone says. If it has a downside, it's that it can be expensive at times. I grow a lil in the summer to help with costs. Never got into selling it. Seems like a hassle.

(63,591 posts)however, that doesn't mean I will stand in the way of someone else smoking it.
to me, the issue is larger than just smoking pot. To me, it's always been about hemp and it's many uses.
limiting a valuable crop because a bunch of lobbyists choose to support a water sucking crop like cotton continues to blind me.
We can forage for food, we can grow our own vegetables, yet we can't use or smoke something that can grow wild and can be cultivated. The moronic justification for it's illegality still amazes me.

(42 posts)1st smoked it in '58. Did nothing. Tried it again in '63. DID SOMETHING!!
I smoke it at night only and the physical probs I've had just melt away into nothingness. Being of a mind to appreciate the arts, especially visual,(aural's good too)I simply become extremely entertained by what takes place in what is sometimes laughingly called-- my mind. Small vignettes, tableaus and such cause me to laugh my ass off and have a big time. Had I ever won a lottery--I would have put together a right funny movie of these weed enabled wondrous (debatable?) visions.
But weed cannot become legal according to the owner class. After all,we can't have people off in the woods or at the beach giggling and enjoying themselves instead of on the zombie treadmills, now can we.
Humans are an odd bunch.
