(6,680 posts)I had dinner tonight with 7 friends (all women). I have always been ready to talk politics, but I don't push it if the other person or persons aren't. None of this group had wanted to talk politics except for a few short statements or conversations. Tonight was a totally different experience. They couldn't stop talking Kamala and the debate. They were as excited as 5 year olds the first week at school. They talked over each other, laughing, pulling up the favorite parts of the debate, so excited. It was a wonderful feeling being surrounded by this kind of energy. I've been friends with this group for 3 years and a couple of them for much, much longer. I have never seen them like this. Woman are excited, truly excited. Kamala has opened up a whole new level of energy and excitement. I know I keep using 'excitement', but there really isn't another term that describes how these women are feeling since the debate.

(2,248 posts)It's located in Kent County (largest city in the county) - a county Biden won 52-46 in 2020. The rural areas of Kent are more conservative but the area Walz was in is very Democratic.

Ohio Republican Senator JD Vance dismissed Taylor Swift's endorsement of Kamala Harris on Wednesday, saying most Americans would not be "influenced by a billionaire celebrity," but the comment appeared to backfire.
Fox News host Martha MacCallum asked Vance about the endorsement of the Democratic vice president, which came moments after Tuesday night's presidential debate, saying many women voters would care what Swift thinks.
"I don't think most Americans, whether they like her music, are fans of her or not, are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who I think is fundamentally disconnected from their interests and the problems of most Americans," Vance responded.
