WI-SEN: Eric Hovde has been using GOP operatives in ads about struggling Wisconsinites

Wisconsin Republican Senate candidate Eric Hovde has released a series of ads using unlabeled Republican operatives to portray economic struggles of everyday Wisconsinites.

In an ad posted to X on Aug. 21, a woman referred to as “Kathy” talks about grocery bills and car payments being “more expensive under Joe Biden and Tammy Baldwin.”

“I hear stories like Kathy’s far too often,” Hovde says in the caption. “Wisconsinites are struggling to get by because of Biden, Harris, and Baldwin’s policies.”

“Kathy,” or Kathy Pape, identifies herself as the executive director of the Republican Party of Waukesha County in an information forum from January 2023. Neither Pape’s title nor full identity are disclosed in the ad.
