BREAKING -- Springfield Mayor tells me he believes that yesterday and today's threats are directly related to unsubstantiated claims about Haitian migrants. Law enforcement has swept and cleared the targeted facilities listed on today's threat.

"We need help not hate"

It's unclear if the threat today came from the same person.

He said the person who sent threats expressed "frustrations about immigration, about Haitians within this community, and about political leadership."

But more of a risk recognition type

Folks are rightly worried about what will happen IF he wins, which I myself dont think is likely

But there is a risk as to what may happen WHEN he loses, which I myself think is likely

Think. Again.

18 U.S. Code § 373 - Solicitation to commit a crime of violence

But I would think that the problem is proving intent!

Intent refers to a person’s state of mind in wanting, deciding, or desiring to commit a particular act. Intent is the deliberate aim or purpose behind an individual’s actions, crucial in determining the legal implications and outcomes in various contexts.

Specific vs. General Intent: Some crimes require ‘specific intent,’ meaning the defendant intended a particular result (e.g., to kill in the case of first-degree murder). Others require only ‘general intent,’ where it is enough to show the defendant intended to perform the act, regardless of wanting a particular outcome.

Think. Again.
