(114,671 posts)and maybe a bowl of raw chicken livers. You don't do a kitty any favors with cans of human tuna, the cat needs taurine, which is largely destroyed by the canning process and needs to be supplemented in tuna canned for cats.
But yeah, that is a very smart kitty. Give that kitty lots of scritches and lots of special foods.

(2,937 posts)It's kind of puzzling! They don't respond to other things he says, at least that I have seen, but they do respond to that.

Both dogs and cats can hear sounds that are outside the normal range of human hearing. That's why there's such a thing as a "silent" dog whistle.
His voice grates on many human ears, as we all know. I could easily believe that there's something in it that grates on feline and canine ears even more. It's possible that he could be making sounds that are literally painful for animals that can hear them to listen to.

(662 posts)as do about 10 million others.
Seems like the cat can understand "cat" and "eating" and "eating cats" was parsed properly.

I swear, I will never stop laughing at hearing "They're eating the pets".

(26,464 posts)reacting to the mic instead of to TSF. I love the possibility that the cat just doesn't like TSF and the timing was perfect since he was talking about cats and dogs being eaten.
But, on camera, the mic looks similar to a snake with its head raised or to a rodent with a very long tail. A cat would silently stalk and attack a mouse, which it considers fair game for lunch. But it would growl and hiss at a snake, which it considers a dangerous enemy to attack.
So it looks like the cat is attacking TSF as a dangerous threat, which we know that he is. But the cat probably thinks that the mic (snake) is the threat.
