Being a Nazi was a bad thing in
America.
My Father fought the Nazis in WW2 - here he is in Regensburg, Germany, May 1945 (post VE Day - in profile, closest to the camera)

(26,851 posts)I think youre right about every generation will have to fight this deep rooted hatred n one way would be informed voters so this cant creep into our politics like it is doing now n strangle the traditions n norms of our government. Not just here in the US but other countries are seeing the increase of ideology, too.

(7,786 posts)been all over the world trying to set up "universities" that basically teach total chaos as a foundation for government. Nazi's, IMO, should be declared a terrorist threat the United States... just as much as any other terror organization. Especially because we fought so hard to defeat them in WWII! If it was against the law to belong to a group like this, we could maybe cut down on the propaganda on Social Media, and jail the worst of the offenders promoting it.
I believe we're all going to thinking and rethinking laws, rules, and norms after we get past this episode of maga fever. We have a new world to build... a progressive, caring one!

(4,229 posts)This might be the time Herzl, had he lived now, would express that staying in America would be a disaster for Jews, just as he warned European Jews about staying in Europe in 1897.
It is ironic to me that white college kids see this as a conflict of white privilege and colonization; they dont realize that brown Arabs have always looked down on the so-called white Jews, considering them to be an inferior race (al-Husseini, grand mufti in Jerusalem during WW2 was tied to the naziest Nazi, Adolph Hitler); When the Nakba was coined by Constantin Zurayk in 1948, it was not to describe the disaster of the expulsion of 800,000 people from their homes, hell, that many Jews got expelled from Arab lands since 1948, and millions refugees are continually being created from war and boundary changes over the years. No one names it nakba; the Nakba referred to seven Arab states declare war on Zionism in Palestine, stop impotent before it, and then turn on their heels. The disaster was getting emasculated by an inferior race of people.
The empire composed of these same brown Arab people engaged in a slave trade that rivals the trans-Atlantic slave trade in numbers and dwarfs it in terms of duration, 1200 years, snatching innocents out of central Africa like the Europeans, but going a step further by castrating the males so they could never breed, which is why Arab nations dont have a sizable black population like the US does. Gaza has a small black enclave, named Al Abeed (meaning servant or slave).

The link shows a picture. The Nazis are wearing masks.
Also this in the Guardian 8 Sept:
"For example, two separate hate groups recently descended on Springfield, Ohio, rallying with masks and uniforms and threatening the approximately 20,000 Haitian immigrants that have arrived in the town since the pandemic."

(1,768 posts)I figured the hate groups were revving up because trump gave them marching orders during the debate. Turns out they had been holding hate rallies and trump seized on the hate and threw gasoline on it. What a f*cked up bunch of people.
Thanks for the links.

(22,183 posts)Today's American "master race" flunked out of community college and still lives with mom.
Oh, and being a nazi is still a bad thing in America. Yet, goobers want attention I guess.
The stigma is still here, though maybe not as strong and in your face as with my parent's generation, those who lived it. Not really sure how millennial's, Z's and forward feel about it as it's become as distant now as WWI. For late boomers / early Gen X'ers like me, we still had first hand accounts from parents and grandparents. People who could sort out the accurate from the Hollywood bullshit from films, without the help of historians because...well...they were there. Dad critiquing Saving Private Ryan's infantry tactics comes to mind. Post war, before they got old, I could see Dad and some of his fellow veterans going up to that bunch of goobers and beating the shit out of them. Call the cops. They'll be on our side. At least back then, because chances were, some of them were veterans too. The goobers knew that so they didn't pull shit like this.

(41,564 posts)The media gave so much attention to "Proud Boys" during Chump's term and it has spawned other groups of the same ilk. As you say, they're mostly community college dropouts, probably working part-time at the local Walmart.
When Chump loses in November, they'll fizzle out.
