Guardian, and Threads - so I've seen the articles about probable mental illness and quite frankly the less forgiving posts are on Threads. They are out there, though, I don't think the OP is disingenuous.

I tend to think mental illness is the biggest factor, given the statement from the guy's son, but I have been wrong before. shrug:

He had a particular obsession about Ukraine. He had a long history of minor criminal infractions, and behavior that strongly suggests mental illness. He voted for Trump in 2016 but apparently soured on him; donated small amounts to Act Blue, and more recently supported Ramaswamy and Haley. His extreme focus on Ukraine is probably why he turned against Trump, and he seems to be bonkers enough that he might have believed he had to get rid of Trump to save Ukraine. There is no evidence that anyone else was involved, and I refuse to arrive at any such conclusion without evidence. I don't do conspiracy theories.

Everything about that guy was so convenient. Guys like that are so easy to play.

This guy had a long-standing obsession with the war in Ukraine, seemed to perceive himself as some sort of hero or at least someone with influence. But he seems to have been something of a nutter for years, and his obsession evidently led him to decide that only he could save Ukraine, and he had to eliminate Trump to do it. If someone had been working with him his attempt probably wouldn't have been so amateurish. The usual internet sleuths and conspiracy theorists are wondering how he knew Trump would be playing golf that day - but you don't have to be a brain scientist or a rocket surgeon to figure that out. You just keep an eye on Mierda-Lardo and watch where the entourage is going, which is almost certainly to the golf course. Everybody knows he golfs when he's not holding Nuremberg rallies. Just follow the entourage and hide in the shrubbery. Since he's not a sitting president he doesn't get the full complement of Secret Service agents so it's doable. No conspiracy required - just a nutball with an obsession and a gun.

What I do find a little suspicious however is how the guy "knew" Trump would be there.

Lurking repeatedly, at a course Trump frequents, until he shows up?

Dumb luck?

Both of the above?

Since Lardass didn't have a rally scheduled the other destination would have the golf course, since all he ever does is hold rallies and play golf. You don't have to be a super-sleuth to figure that out.

he usually goes to the same course (I suppose though, as you pointed out, he could just follow the vehicles to the destination wherever it was).

In just a perfect place and time. Seems a bit convenient. They had a BOLO (be on the lookout) issued in minutes with the car make, model, color AND plate number - on an escaping car.
