Maddow becoming irrelevant on Mondays?

Please let me clarify. it seems to me that she used to be on the leading edge of really important stories that were breaking - case in point, she was where I first heard about the "fake electors" and basically asked the question "why is no one paying attention to this?". Now, when she does her normal Monday slot, it's more of a rehash of what's already been reported and rehashed to death by all the other MSNBC pundits. I know she's gone on to bigger things, but if she can't bring the fire to her old seat she should permanently give up to someone who can do it more justice.

Just my $.02

Rachel's show, like most of the other MSNBC folks (the ones I like, anyway), is available the next day as a podcast. It actually has fewer commercials. You won't see videos of course, but you've probably seen them elsewhere by that time if they're big. Or catch them on YouTube.

There are lots of podcast apps - I use podbean.
https://www.podbean.com/pa/dir-ykenj-11a84

Just go to your podcast app on your phone, if you have one, and search the name of the anchor you like. Another plus is that many apps allow you to speed up the audio (which doesn't make it mickey-mouse) by fractions if you want to get through it faster.

with anyone about anything political. She get the interviews that no one else would get, I think because she is respected by those in the political arena. MSNBC has some great talent and although Maddow now does spend some time promoting her podcasts and the documentary tonight - it is all very relevant historically and shows how our present day situation is not a sudden occurance but usually an effort that has been in the works sometimes for decades.

I think her style of explaining things is very much still relevant. (I'm a fan ☮ )

When Maddow demanded MSNBC reduce her on-air work load so she could pursue other projects, someone decided Monday would be her day. We don't know if it was her or MSNBC. On Monday you get to review all the news that happened over the weekend. It's seldom that anything politically earth-shattering happens over the weekend, except the occasional golf game interrupted by whatever that was or a SCOTUS decision issued late Friday night. And yeah, on the rare occasions I've watched lately it hasn't been the professor educating us about the importance of some overlooked nuance, or some missed connection we need to make. It's been someone trying to fill up an hour by preaching to the converted about the threats to democracy. It seems to me that Thursday would have been a better choice, allowing her to review the "legislative week" (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), but hey, not my call.

On the other hand, perhaps cable news punditry just hit its sell-by date.

She works for Comcast.

I've never been any paragon of virtue in my own work history and have briefly waded through a few ethical sewers for money, but I never made a career of it.

Got a check from Larry Flynt once, but that was that. And not the worst.

Comcast is one of those corporations I could never work for. There are a few. If Elon Musk offered me a six figure salary I'd tell him to fuck off and die, I'd rather be homeless and living on the streets. Once or twice did something like that too, burning bridges and throwing a few hand grenades across the river for good measure.

Burn some bridges and throw a few hand grenades across the river, Rachel Maddow...
