Three killed as more explosions hit Beirut and across Lebanon ‘targeting walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah’

At least three people have been killed and hundreds wounded as more explosions have hit Beirut and across Lebanon – with hand-held radios used by Hezbollah said to have been targeted.

It comes a day after exploding pagers killed 12 and injured thousands in a attackHezbollah has blamed on Israel.

The walkie-talkies detonated late on Wednesday afternoon across the country's south and in the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut, a security source told Reuters.

Three people were killed in Lebanon's Bekaa region in the east of the country in the latest device blasts, the state news agency reported on Wednesday. The security source said that hundreds had been injured.

"Someone" was able to reach deep into the Hezbollah supply chain. The article indicates the walkie talkies were bought by Hezbollah about the same time as the pagers; it was kind of foolish for Hezbollah to not check if other items may have been compromised.

We will never know the details, but this is an extraordinary operation.

It will be interesting to see what else has been infiltrated and compromised. I doubt this is the end of the take down.

Guess they didn’t have any other ideas to approach situation. But gee, it only killed about 26 people out of 3400 — not a very high kill ratio.

So…will it entice more to Hezbollah’s cause? Or will the 3374 injured ones say ‘Uncle, uncle! I give up!’

Plus the obvious question will be how did they intercept these and put them back into the chain without notice. A lot of paranoia about to spring up.

No, blowing up the enemy’s communications is not a war crime. And yes, a war was actually declared against Israel on Oct 7 by Hamas, Hezbollah, and pals.
