ACLU backhands little nazi Ohio sheriff

Pushes back with letter -- main point: "The ACLU of Ohio insists that Sheriff Zuchowski right these wrongs and follow the law – as is his duty as an elected official and his role as sheriff.”

* but I'm even MORE in favor of taking legal action against that SOB and making him pay. The damage has been done. There must be consequences.

Statement from ACLU of Ohio Legal Director Freda Levenson:

“Sheriff Zuchowski has made an impermissible, unconstitutional threat against Portage County residents who wish to engage in protected First Amendment activity. Many have reasonably understood his posts to be a threat of governmental action to punish them for their expressed political beliefs and have been coerced to take down or refrain from putting up a yard sign. The ACLU of Ohio insists that Sheriff Zuchowski right these wrongs and follow the law – as is his duty as an elected official and his role as sheriff.”

Please be careful, I seem to remember years ago, that I mentioned the infamous "Sternly Worded Letter" and got a slap from DU for daring to make a criticism of the Dem Senator that said that phrase...........

Everyone should send MAJOR donations to the ACLU.......of course, it would have been better if everyone, like us, had supported them all along and kicked donations into high gear, beginning in 2006...........

None whatsoever. Why on earth the ACLU is not calling on Governor DeWine to suspend or remove him is beyond me. The man can't be allowed to continue to be the chief law enforcement officer of the county after making such a threat.

The only thing that's "unclear" is what they plan to do if/when he refuses. I guess it's too early to make explicit threats of legal action. If he can't figure that out, then he's going to be very surprised.

That his actions would constitute election interference and that if he even repeats the phrase in public again, they will rain holy fire on his wannabe dictator dreams. And not stop until he is nothing.

It will never happen, but I can dream a bit in my old age.

She has a Harris/Walz sign in her yard. When she read about this jackass sheriff telling his magat friends what to do she doubled down and put another sign on her mailbox at the end of her driveway. As I said on that thread, there are three of us sisters and all three of us are not intimidated one iota by people like this guy who wants us to live in fear. We won't.

How about the idiot is arrested for breaking the law? Huh? Let's try that, see if it affects the other MAGA fools, makes them stop trying to commit election interference.

It's easy enough to stop this nonsense. Arrest them, try them, put them in prison. Oops. Did I say that? Oh, mercy, there goes that rhetoric. Damn.
