“One day, a lady had some rubbish in her car, including the print,” Winter adds. “I thought it looked interesting and asked if I could have it. She was more than happy to give it to me. … It’s been tucked away in a cupboard at home with all my other antique finds for the last 13 years.”

Claw foot oak table to the curb. I asked if I could have it they said sure. They lifted into the bed of my truck.
I was on my way to my friend’s antique store, park out front and went inside. A few minutes later a guy came in and asked it that table was for sale. I said yep for $250. He said he’d take in and he unloaded it into his van. I never touched it.
I’m thrilled. with small finds.

then i wondered if he was drawn to it for the creepy figures (death and the devil)

??

i don't think that article really said what caught his eye other than he "had an eye for antiques" -- but i wonder what specifically caught his eye. who knows? maybe it was nothing other than the fact that it looked "old"

7. I believe I would have recognized it right away as I did literally hundreds of studies of his works over the years.

Probably would have thought it was a mass printed copy, though, as that's one of his most famous works.
