I heard a "tax relief" ad on the radio last night that truly ticked me off

If you listen to the sports channels on SiriusXM you've heard all these weird ads for things like prostate pills, tax relief, time share cancellation, life insurance and so on and so forth.

Well...I'm driving home last night from a reasonably-unfrustrating shift when on comes a commercial for one of the tax relief companies in which the speaker was talking about how the IRS was going to take his house, seize his bank account, garnish his wages, etc., etc., etc. Pretty bad stuff, right?

Then comes the kicker: "I didn't pay taxes for eight years."

If that's the case, WHAT THE HELL DID YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN? It's not like this guy just made a tiny little mistake and the Evil IRS is putting the screws to him, he refused to pay his taxes for eight fucking years and now he's getting what he deserves.

I see the same kinds of ads on TV …. These morons gleefully proclaim, “I owe five years of back taxes!” Are they just figuring they won’t get caught??

A coworker did the same thing. Was one of the early sovereign state movement people. He didn’t believe that the IRS was illegal and by saying the magic words they couldn’t go after him. He did lose his house and was put in jail.
