Comey concedes he may have been responsible for Trump's election

https://www.axios.com/2019/04/02/comey-concedes-responsible-trump-election-hillary-clinton

In a Tuesday interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, former FBI Director James Comey conceded that his decision to announce in October 2016 that the FBI was reopening an investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server may have helped Trump win the election, but defended it as "the least terrible option."

Amanpour: "Do you ever think that you might be responsible for the election of President Trump? Does that keep you up at night?"

Comey: "Sure. And I hope someday somebody proves that we were irrelevant. ... I hope we had no impact. I hope it's proven that it was irrelevant. But all it does is increase the pain. It doesn't change how I think about the decision. My view and the view of my team was: I cannot conceal from the American people that the investigation we told them, and fought to tell them, is done, is done, is done — is not done, and the result could change."

Lots of hoping in that quote. Hoping someone else will bail you out for the unjustified and downright evil decision you made 8 years ago.

And I hope someday somebody proves that we were irrelevant

And suddenly it's a "we" that made the decision to torpedo Hillary's campaign.

Well, we on the other side of the political spectrum are entitled to hope, too. And I hope that it does keep you up EVERY. DAMN. NIGHT. I hope you never get another good night's sleep the rest of your life. I hope that when you stand in front of St. Peter he sends you in the express hand basket to hell after he looks in his ledger and sees every death you contributed to by furthering the election of the greedy COVID-denier. I hope you hear the cries of the COVID-orphans in what little sleep you do get. And the cries of the kids in Afghanistan and Ukraine who lost their parents due to the foul sack of crap you ushered into the most powerful office in the world.

I honestly can't decide if I hope you rot in hell or burn in hell, Comey. But I guess you're not really worth the time I've already spent thinking about it.

And that lame rationalization does nothing to diminish the POS status.
It's patently ridiculous to claim it was the least terrible option, particularly since this revived "investigation" turned up absolutely nothing. How could it be the least terrible option when they still found no wrongdoing.?
It's utter nonsense.

Comey was well aware of the Russian paid off agents in the NYC's FBI office in 2016 and about the Trump’s campaign constant connections to Putin's Alfa Bank.

Comey announced his 11th hour re-opening of the investigation into Hillary's emails as if there was probable cause. He did nothing to balance it with the possibility that perhaps there could be nothing there. And nothing was. Comey admits that he may have enabled Trump's win and the debacle that followed, with horrific impact to this day. Take out the "may" and he is spot-on.

He’s just sorry about the consequences of his actions, and how costing Hillary the election has cost our country so much more; even more than he could have ever imagined (think J6, for starters).

Our nation may never recover. Thank you Jim Comey.
