Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's preparation for the Oct. 1 vice presidential debate with Sen. JD Vance is well underway, sources familiar with the process have confirmed to ABC News.

He's already held some mock debates, sources said, with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, in his personal capacity, acting as a Vance stand-in, and held policy sessions with his own longtime aides, Biden White House alumni and members of the Harris-Walz campaign team.

Buttigieg was in Minneapolis as recently as Wednesday to help him prepare. Walz has also been practicing on the road as he campaigns.

Biden White House alumni Rob Friedlander and Zayn Siddique are running the preparations. Siddique, who is currently an attorney at the firm Paul Weiss and served as senior adviser to Bruce Reed, the White House deputy chief of staff under President Joe Biden, has also been part of the vice president's debate preparations.

Tim will cut JD Vance into little pieces and feed them to the dogs Vance accuses Haitians of killing and eating, figuratively speaking.

Tim knows how much the Somali community has contributed to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro area despite opposition to their settling here. The majority of the employees here where I live at the Seniior Living facility are Somali, African-America, the Caribbean, and from Africa itself. Good people, dedicated to their charges and doing a good job.

Eden Prairie has many from India. There are 2 Indian restaurants within a short walk tht when I take my walks, I can smell the curry and other delicious aromas emanating from them.

JD Vance will rue the day he agreed to be tRump's running mate. For Tim Walz is a seasoned Debater and never underestimates an opponent. Just ask the Republicans he has faced up against. The last being Scott Jensen.

I'm thinking Pete Buttigieg is going to have a hard time effectively acting as a stand-in for a lying asshole.

Maybe Alex Jones or Tucker Carlson would be more suitable...

Pete is the perfect debate coach! He is terrific at combatting MAGA tactics such as the Gish, etc. Not that Vance is that great at it, but they all rely on similar tactics.

It should be recorded and used in master classes on debate. I'd pay to take a class like that!

9. I have seen Tim Walz in action in debates...He is not to be trifled with.

JD Vance will be at a serious and obvious disadvantage when debating Tim Walz. For Tim does not debate in /with LIES, he debates with FACTS.

I have seen each election cycle he was running for re-election for Congress and for Governor, his debate skills got better. The Teacher in him will communicate the facts. The Football Coach in him will map out his strategy. The Command Sargent Major in him will show and take the lead on the issues at hand. The Congressman knows how Government and Washington politics work. The Governor in him knows what it means how to Govern.

No question Tim Walz will do to JD Vance what Kamala Harris did to tRump. REDUCE him in every way possible and still have a smile on his face.

Go Tim! I will be watching.
