at his event in PA. As David Roberts pointed out on twitter, this is an effort to reward certain companies who kiss his you know what and punish others. He's doing it out in the open.
I think this explains why he is so pro tariff. It's not that he doesn't understand how they will hurt the consumer, although is stupid and probably doesn't understand. It's because he wants power to hold over businesses who dare to go against him. Scary and dangerous.
I wonder if we will hear anything about this on the corporate media.

The company has reported slumping year-over-year revenue after announcing a net income of more than $10.16 billion in 2023. In a May earnings call, executives forecast Deeres 2024 income will be about $7 billion, citing higher production costs, lower shipment volumes and volatile weather that has made customers more cautious in their purchasing decisions.

Every day, I see the stupid stand up and say, I AM TOOPID. Watch me.
And every day, I see more positive confirmation that there's just no fix for stupid. Unbelievable.

(13,431 posts)to go after his enemies, like the Clintons etc. It is like this is all new and to them it is. Not to most of us who read real investigative journalism and were discussing these issues as they happened. It seems Michael Schmidt took his head out of Haberman's ass to look up from his PR campaign for Trump to learn what was going on. He thinks this is new news, it is just new to him and them.

(26,178 posts)Trump threatens company. Company pretends to comply with Trump. Company then does exactly what it planned all along because the Trump attention span is short and FOX news has already spun it as a victory. Nothing changes.
We know this because Trump did this his first term and companies figured out how to play Trump long ago. He's an easy read.
