I got my updated COVID vaccine today and my flu shot at the same time!
Both of my upper arms ache a little! Not to bad though! I am going the South Dakota Trucking Association Convention and want to make sure Im vaccinated! A lot of people are going to be there! I am not real enthused to, but being one of Driver of the Month recipients for December, I might be voted for South Dakotas Driver of the Year. Im not looking to win but it would be notch in my belt as my driving career wind down. Ill keep everyone posted.

(9,940 posts)I was waiting until September when the "new" vaccine was supposed to come out (which it has) to get my newest booster. Then I'm pretty sure a truck ran over me...except it was covid. And I'm in my 70's. Still dragging around.

Three weeks ago I got the Covid shot, and my
arm was a little painful for a day or two.
All worth it!

(620 posts)Both times nothing more than a minor sniffles. The second time I did not even have that I just felt off for a day. I am one of the lucky ones.
The first time my doc gave me something ( not paxlovid ) and I tested + for 14 days, the second time they said not to take anything. I tested + for 4 days.
My doc actually recommended not getting boosters ( I had two ) as my symptoms were so minor and to wait for if a really dangerous strain came around. Part of this is due to both my parents having very bad reactions to their boosters, like my mother almost went in to the hospital twice with 24 hours of getting two boosters. The docs have no idea why she had a bad reactions to them.
It is driving my father nuts as he was in public health and was friends with Fauci for 20 years, but he also had a bad reactions to the vaccine. Both of them also when they have had covid, had very minor symptoms.

(943 posts)Got both in the same arm. Was sore for a couple of days - not too bad.
I had COVID a couple of years ago, right after I retired. Fortunately I was current with the vaccines, because I felt like I was hit by a truck.I was functional, but didn't want to be. Felt OKAY after about a week.

To help speed the end of pain in your arms, rub them and massage that vaccine out into more areas of you body, get your blood circulating a bit and the pain will subside faster.
