How come when I attempt to view a posters video, I get a message that I must be logged in to view (Im already logged in), and then theres a link Learn More (which I select). Then the imbedded video disappears!
Whats going on?!!
TIA.

(23,631 posts)I haven't seen this myself, but it sounds like the video you're talking about might be restricted on YouTube in some way. Sometimes when that happens you need to actually visit YouTube -- and sometimes sign in to YouTube -- to see the video. It won't just play normally on DU.
When you're being asked to sign in, it doesn't mean sign in to DU. Any text that you see in a YouTube video is generated by YouTube, not DU.
Can you provide a link to the problem video?

(29,981 posts)Create a pinned link to the following path and empty it out every day. Once the directory gets above 30K files, YouTube starts its signin process. By clearing it out daily, you don't need to register and pay for an account.
C:🍆Users🍆pc name🍆AppData🍆Local🍆Mozilla🍆Firefox🍆Profiles🍆????????.default-????????????🍆cache2🍆entries
The above works for Firefox. Not sure where the entries folder is in other browsers. Used 🍆 instead of blackslash.
I think you can also clear your cache and restart Firefox, but this allows you to clear it out without restarting your browser.

(29,981 posts)Oh, I think once you hit the signon state, you might need to log out of YouTube and restart your browser to reset everything.

(3,767 posts)Most common thing is its on a iPhone. Is that what youre using? If so it seems to be a cache problem. On mine I saw I had an update show and immediately did that. I think during the update it cleared my cache.
Clearing the cache might also work on other browsers
