(114,724 posts)I encounter people every day who have tried their damndest to get an updated booster before the Bridge program ended in its last few days and got the appointments only to be told the NEW vaccine (the only one available) was not covered. These are those who fall between Medicaid and being able to afford Obamacare, so they really needed that program, but Congress failed to fund it.
I've spoken to my Congressional delegation about it, but they were on board to begin with. It is crazy that these people trying to do the best they can to protect themselves are at the mercy of the election and hopefully, sane policy. There is something really wrong with those who cannot/will not understand that preventing spread of infectious disease--especially respiratory vaccine-preventable disease requires as many as possible to remain fully vaccinated and boostered. Depriving some of such protection out of some punitive attitudes toward the poor, or other misplaced belief, hurts us all and puts many at risk for these diseases. But, for these "flat-earthers" or nasty punitive jerks, it is impossible to get through.

(4,783 posts)I tried to order for my husband, but they only allow for one set of tests per household.
I had my updated Covid and flu vaccination about an hour ago.
.....rubbing my arm so I don't get that sore .......

(134,068 posts)one set of four. But this tells me that they are anxious about the next wave. Maybe check with your locall health department or pharmacy?
Also, don't just rub your arm, move it in every direction to get things moving. May you be side-effect free!

There are test kits at CVS, but they cost about $20.
Let's just hope that we don't need them.

(12,757 posts)I think the ones that I got the last time, that my husband and I used to test ourselves when we got home from Europe, don't pick up the latest variants. I swear that I had COVID, but the tests that I was using kept showing negative.

I love my coffee but this was not so good. Flavors of food are off also.

(21,821 posts)I had something in January 2020 and ended up with pneumonia. Pretty sure it was covid, but not recognized at that point. Taste was definately affected, and relentless coughing to the point I pulled muscles in abdomen.

(4,807 posts)I do have one question though. This seems to indicate that not all tests previously gotten are capable of finding all variants. Am I reading this right?
