3. Hogan is considered a strong contender

Maryland is a very blue state, but Hogan was elected governor previously as a moderate Republican. He was one of only a few Republicans with a relatively high profile who opposed Trump, especially after Jan. 6.

However, he’s still a Republican, and most Marylanders don’t want to see a GOP-led US Senate, so he’s going to have a tougher road than he did in the governor’s race. Good to see Alsobrooks well ahead in this poll.
