Here is Kamala Harris, younger, vibrant, seasoned, not old, white or a guy.

when they can vote for him in secrecy at the ballot box. They never went anywhere. But they are now not as vocal in their support, because deep down, they know.
Kamala will will prevail though in popular and electoral votes.

(13,291 posts)Al Gore and Hillary Clinton proved the popular vote means squat.
In the end it comes down to one county in one of the smaller states, and one person in that county. That person will determine the destiny of our country for four years -- or decades longer, if you count SCOTUS appointees. I live in California, so my vote doesn't count as much as one cast in Wyoming.
There is a science fiction story called "The Voter." I think it was Arthur C. Clarke who wrote it. The premise is that polling had gotten so sophisticated that just by having a casual conversation (no politics) with one person -- an ordinary citizen randomly chosen and called The Voter -- a super-computer (perhaps a precursor to "Deep Thought," for you Douglas Adams fans) determined the outcome of every election from president to county dog catcher.
Several months ago T***p said he was so far ahead of everybody else in the polls that the election didn't have to be held -- he could just be designated president. It sounds like he was joking, but remember, Trump never jokes.

(2,905 posts)"I want to make America great again" is probably as deep as they go. Or maybe "I want to go to the rally and jeer and cheer with my fellow real Americans"
But if anybody asks me in a one-on-one conversation who I'm voting for, I'm "undecided" so maybe I can make it onto News 8 at 6.

There is a married couple just south of me who call me for information. I provide it, or send them to the county clerk. I am hoping they see that the Democrats in this precinct are more available and better informed. That might influence them to vote for Democrats.

(169,716 posts)IMHO, it's all a "manufactured" / "scripted" "reality show election".
Must transform something the people really don't want to pay attention to and is generally "boring", into something "exciting" including adding "controversy", and assuming everyone has enough cognitive dissonance to forget the narrative they pushed out there before.
