I was at Walgreens in Michigan waiting to get my Covid flu vaccine. While standing at counter I looked up and this older gentleman was staring at me not blinking for extra long span of time. Could it have been my beauty he was enamored with or my Harris Walz shirt??? I started staring back. He looked away after a bit then I looked away. I looked back and he was staring again. I returned the glare as well. This time he broke his stare and smiled or smirked. Couldnt tell. He got up and left.
Who knows if he was repub or dem. Maybe he was one of those weirdos and had a woman chained up in his shed and he had to get back to. He didnt stick around and engage so I have to assume weirdo.
Have fun and be safe.

(25,117 posts)Not clear what his problem was, but he stood at the counter and had a total tantrum.
He told the woman helping him he had complained before and had the phone number of her boss. Then he pulled out his phone, called someone (her boss, apparently), and spent a good five minutes screaming into the phone.
I knew he was MAGA when he shouted at the person on the phone that they had nothing but "fucking Democrats" working behind the counter and the company needed to fire all the liberals working in their stores.
He held up the line for a good ten minutes before stomping off, furious.

(15,019 posts)It's typically either the insurance or middlemen pharmacy providers requiring endless iterations of pre-authorization for.expensive or regulated drugs, deciding they know better than your doctor or changing up what's on their formulary(Express Scripts is horrible for that...) or the pharmaceutical companies themselves with their increasing amount of shortages or seasonal production of generics in the name of profits.
Not to mention the pharmacies not employing enough pharmacists or techs to cover known surge times or their "add on" health care services (vaccines, simple wellness care).
The only time the pharmacists themselves have been at fault with was not checking the vault when a controlled or psychotropic medications come in and the patient is desperate due to having run out.

(4,281 posts)I see an incredibly stressed staff trying to cope with too many tasks. As a former RN it seems so dangerous to me. It requires great focus not to mess up and it also requires time for staff to relax their brains.
The new market selling vaccines is pretty annoying and rough on the staff.
Plus, there is never anyone to answer the phone! I feel about ready to beat a wall when I have to interact with their automated phone tree nazis. I am sure the staff takes the brunt of that.

(36,835 posts)They have no problem getting me meds the they big stores claim they cant get. Turns out theres not enough profit in it for them. My pharmacist knows me by name and has all of my records. He has and does all of my vaccines and checks up on them when I come in. I try to never use the big chain ones and those in big chain stores like Kroger and Meijers.
