Rest in Peace Kris Kristofferson. You always made things better.

(114,704 posts)(Neuroborreliosis)... Very hard to treat at that stage, but he was said to have responded.
I really liked him. So intelligent and well educated (Rhodes scholar) yet just an "every man" throughout his life and songs.

(43,850 posts)for reasons no one knows, she sang that song to herself again and again. Eventually she just sang Freedoms just another word for nothing left to lose. It does sound like a fine self reassurance as you go.
Im positive it was Kris version. She wouldnt have been a Janis fan.
We didnt have much in common but I guess we both saw the beauty in his music. He wasnt hard on the eyes, either. 😄
RIP

(1,148 posts)I loved the movie. All the actors, from Kris, Ellen, Jodie Foster ("weird, really weird"
, Diane Ladd and Harvey Keitel....just a great cast. There was a scene with Kris and his guitar as well. He was multi talented.

(23,204 posts)She breaks away from marital abuse to be on her own, but in spite of herself she still finds love.
A lot of seventies movies just had the abuse part.

Thank you for the music Kris....from the bottom of my heart.

(14,757 posts)Sinhead being booed at the Dylan tribute concert where Kris introduces her and then comes up to tell her "Don't let the bastards get you down". So she changes her song.
And here's Kris's song he wrote in her honour.

(8,901 posts)He was not a big favorite of mine, he was good, but I didn't go out of my way to hear him. But he's in the category of people I liked knowing were around, I now realize, now that he isn't.
The odd part, to me anyway, is realizing how much I have felt like I actually knew these people on some level. They were part of my "community," I think from listening to them on AM radio when that was the only music option in the car. I think if I played one of his songs, I'd probably shed a tear or two. I'm sure I'd know all the words.
RIP, handsome fella.
