Single mom, disabled daughter... home flooded.

I hope this is ok to post here. This mom and daughter are the family of my son's best friend, whom we have known for 15 years. Helene took nearly everything and they nearly drowned. If you can help they would be so grateful. Even just sharing this can help. Below is what my daughter posted to help them. Thank you for reading and sharing.

Hi all!

I know many of you were hit hard by Helene and my heart goes out to you. But for those that can afford to help, I would appreciate it if you can donate to a GoFundMe we set up for Jackson's mom, Sophia, and his sister. They were in South Pasadena, Florida (Pinellas County) which was one of the many areas completely under water.

They went through a truly harrowing experience trying to escape through their window into shoulder deep waters to the Publix nearby. Sophia had her daughter by the arm and their dog around her neck, and could barely touch the ground while they were surrounded by waste and fish in the water. After making it to Publix, they waited 7 hours outside for the water to go down enough so they could walk. Having lost their shoes, and with blisters on their feet, they walked miles to find the closest shelter. It's truly a miracle they all made it out alive. Now comes the hard work of facing the devastation.

Their apartment is ruined, so many memories and keepsakes lost. Even if you are not able to donate, please share this as much as you can. Thank you all so much!!! ❤️
